In November of 2023 I became ill. On the news they were alerting people that a nasty virus was circulating, so I believed that this is what I had and my illness would run its course. I had a low grade fever, lost my appetite, and wanted to sleep most of the time. I began to get severe chills. I went to emergency but nothing was done. I was visiting my daughter out of town in January. She insisted that I go to a walk in clinic. They sent me to emergency. They determined that I had sepsis. I had a 3.5 cm Staghorn kidney stone. I was put on IV antibiotics and ended up with a nephrostomy in my back after having lithotripsy on the stone; however, I got sepsis again and ended up in hospital in September. I still had remnants of the stone in my kidney and had lithotripsy again. Since having sepsis, I now have severe fatigue and trouble walking. I am very weak compared to how I was before sepsis. My new doctor has no advice as to how to address my Sepsis Syndrome. She says to do yoga. When you have so much difficulty walking and are so fatigued, yoga is not even remotely feasible! I received no documentation nor verbal information as to what I may experience after sepsis. They cured me; I was out the door—that’s it. There should be a follow-up with a surgeon afterwards. Doctors are not very informed on Sepsis.
